997 shifter linkage upgrade Q

I think my 996 tt has a B&M short shifter in it which I don't like. There loads on various forums about the different shifter options I've found the thread below with advice from suncoast.

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...t-linkage.html

Looks like the standard 997 shifter is the best option for me. The 997.2 gt3 looks to be the same but with one metal collar instead of the standard 997's nylon item. I'm not going to do loads of track days, so this should be fine.

Anyone know if my 996 shift **** will fit on the end of the 997 linkage? I have a OEM carbon shift **** that was a pricey option. I also think it's a little shorter than standard so should keep the overall throw length down.

Thanks!

The GT3 is a bit shorter than the normal i think, I would go for the 997 GT3.

Have that in my car, and just love the feeling!

And as an awnser to your question, yes it was no problem att all with the fitting
