996 C4S wheel alignment

Is there anything special about getting the wheels aligned on a 996 C4S or can any alignment shop do the job? I've heard something about complications with the PSM on these cars after an alignment but I can't seem to find any definitive answer on that.

As always... thanks for the help.

I've not heard of anything special, I had the dealer do mine and I asked for neutral toe wit very little negative camber for the rears. Personally if I were looking for a place I would suggest you find a shop that has a lot of experience with Porsche's and or exotics. Just my opinion.

+1 You need a 4 wheel alignment and any shop just can't do the job.

I was told the fuel tank should be full.

A tire shop alignment for my 2006 GTO sucked so I shudder to think how badly the alignment for my AWD 996 Turbo would be.

Find a highly recommended indy alignment shop that has a good rep for aligning these cars or seek out a dealer.

Couple of things:

Be sure you specify you want the steering wheel centered.

Fill the fuel tank.

Be sure the car is empty of any junk/dead weight. (Toss the old batteries you have been hauling around.)

The spare tire and tool kit/etc should be properly stowed.

Be sure you get -- ask for it *before* the job starts -- a *before and after* printout.
