I'm waiting on delivery or a 2002 996tt that has the PCM1 factory navigation installed, along with the navigation CD and HVAC controls in the lower console.

I'm hoping to delete the lower console to gain some legroom. In the process, the plan was to move the HVAC controls to the upper console and add a basic single DIN radio.

Has anyone done this, and if so any pointers? Can I use the factory speakers powered by the single DIN amp?

Additionally, any comment on what trim pieces are needed to make this work?

Tons of great threads on this conversion. Search is your friend if you don't get a timely response. I believe sun coast has the trim pieces and a harness kit.
