New K40

I was wondering if anyone has the new k40. I just spoke with an installer who said tha besides being a radar detector, it also jams laser AND scrambles k, x, and ka laser - apparently it will give the officer an error message for 10 seconds or something, and will tell the driver which direction (front or rear) that it's coming for.

If this thing really jams laser and scrambles I would expect someone here to have it - unless it's just complete b.s. because this thing costs like 2 grand or something with install... anyone know anything about this firsthand? Thanks.

Weston

it is a jammer. but from what I remember you have to run the license plate trim rings front and rear, and that makes it add up to $2000 or so. Give my friend an email or call him at www.signatureaudiousa.com and talk to Dave (the owner/manager) he is a close friend of mine and he does a ton of the K40's in the Scottsdale market

The laser jamming is true, scrambling radar is BS, also the laser jamming element of the trim rings can be removed and mounted elsewhere, like behind a grill slat in the front if you're not running a front plate.

Uh oh... that's what I was worried about. I even asked the guy specifically if it blocked ALL types of radar (x, k, ka, etc...). Thanks for the feedback guys.... is there some other unit that they could possibly be talking about that does the radar blocking thing?
