Having difficulty removing CDR23 head unit
Having difficulty removing CDR23 head unit
I bought the iSimple Tranzit BLU HF to add bluetooth to my 2003 C4S. This unit works inline with the antenna wire.
I also ordered the antenna adapter cables and the keys to remove the head unit.
I can't get the head unit out. I slide the keys in, but I don't hear much of a click, if at all. The videos that I found online are the earlier tape deck unit. The tape deck slot gives you something to grab and pull.
The instructions at Pelican show that you pull on the keys with screwdrivers to get extra leverage. When I pull on the keys, they just slide out.
The keys have TOP L and TOP R on them. I assume this means the side with the letter faces up, and they go in the right and left side.
Please help! Thanks!

I gave up. Had a local car stereo shop give it a go. They pulled the head unit and installed the Tranzit BLU HF in 1.5 hours for $100. They said they used their own tools which were stronger than the Amazon keys that I had bought. Sometimes you have to let the experts do their thing.
By the way, it works great. I'll post more later.
