Looking for some advice on installing fabrspeed cold air box and turbo tips on a 996
Any insight or FYI info on a DYI install of the fabspeed cold air box on a 2002 C2 996 and turbo exhaust tips would be appreciated. Not really expecting too much from the Cold air box...any comments on this are also welcome.
thanks in advance. Ted

Fabspeed box install is super easy.
Take off the hose from the airbox to the maf. Then unscrew the lid of the airbox and take it off.
Now unscrew the airbox muffler thing.
Screw in the block off plate from fabspeed into its place.
Put airbox cover back on.
Now where the old hose was, replace it with the new red fabspeed hose and you can re-use the old factory clamps.
Thats about it, 15min. install.

There are three scews holding in the stock muffler thingy in the airbox. use two of those screws to screw in the muffler block off plate.
No CELS and definitely a difference in sound, more aggressive. And it does seem to rev easier a tad.

thanks for the insight...car is in storage right now but thinking of going over there this weekend and doing both projects.....Driving the Cayenne S.....took off the catbypass pipes for the winter and car has the stock 18's instead of the 20's i put on...would not put 22's here with the winter and lowered it with springs....roads are just too rough here....so all that we a dirty car cause of the slush and mud every day makes me really miss those sunny days with the top down....have been stocking up on mods the past little while to start the new season with bang....thanks
