Question 996 c2 with gt3 wing - intake options?

Hello everyone, I have been a lurker for a while but cannot find the answer to a pretty specific question.

I have an 02 c2 with an 04 gt3 style fixed wing coming soon. I believe this wing has two inlets for airflow.

I have read that the standard 997 box fits pretty well but what about the dual inlet 997 airbox?

I know that fabspeed's reputation is a little gray right now as I tried to convince myself the dual carbon fiber intake was a good option but continually ran into threads saying to avoid the company.

Anyone ran the fabspeed intake (dual carbon version) long term without issue i.e. Heat soak? Looking for looks and sound, not an increase in performance, as well as something that matches up well to the gt3 wing.

Thanks all!

Hi there,

If its an 04' "actual" GT3 wing the air inlet on the wing will be to the right (on the underside) and you'd need an aftermarket intake. The only design i'd trust is the EVOMS one. Although even then its tricky as it adapts to the standard snorkel location but the pod filter would line up with the GT3 intake hole on the right.

If its a 04' "style" wing then the intake may be on the left and line up with the standard intake.

Many people have had issues with the fabspeed intake, i'd stick to an EVOMS or standard one.

The standard 997 with the single intake will fit a 996 (although if you have a SAI it has to be slightly relocated or you can use the 996 snorkel on the 997 box).

I dont recall seeing anyone having fitted a dual intake 997 box in a 996.

If you post pictures of the wing I could better assist as its all just hypothetical at this point.
