Angry Cel

My CEL on my MY 99C2 just came on on my way to work this a.m. Does anyone know where I can get my codes pulled for cheap? Are there any "national chain type" parts stores or service centers that will perform this on a Porsche? I am in southern Alabama and I am trying to avoid expensive dealership prices until I determine what is wrong.

I've heard autozone will pull the codes for you, but when I called they wanted to charge $60. A bunch of us just bought ODBII scanners. In my opinion a nessary part of Porsche ownership. Especially if you like to mod your car.

Pulled Code---P1640 Can anyone translate?

Went to AutoZone. Nice kid behind counter pulled codes. Here is exactly what is on the print out he gave me:

DTC (Codes)

P1640
Manufacurer Contrl.
Auxiliary Inputs
Auxiliary Outputs

DTC Pending (Codes)
No Faults Detected

If I understand the above information correctly, there is only one fault code (P1640). Does anyone know what this fault code represents? Thanks in advance for any input.
