Convertible Top Rear Plastic Replacement?
Convertible Top Rear Plastic Replacement?
I have a bit of a problem here. Upon putting the convertible top up, the rear plastic decides to split in two. Now I'm gonna have to replace it before the rainy season hits. I have an automobile upholstery shop that says the job is doable. Problem is I can't find the plastic piece alone, and I don't really want to buy a completely new top. Has anybody had this experience? If so where did you find the plastic or even a glass replacement. The upholstery shop says it can really be any thicker plastic it just has to be UV rated. They also suggested to search Home Depots, Lowes and other department stores. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Time for a new top. Replacing the window requires removing the top and the labor involved is the same as putting on a new top. So you can have a repaired very old top for about $800 or a brand new top for about $1600. I did the latter. A new top makes your car look new again.
