Changed ignition switch....top no longer functions

Hi Guys,

2006 996 C2 cabriolet. The top was working earlier today and I put it down specifically so I would have more room to replace the ignition switch. Following what I thought was a successful replacement the convertible top is not functioning.

The replacement part# (from Pelican) is 4A0-905-849-B-M56
But when I look at the part# I took out it is 4a0 805 849b

I don't know much about the internals of an ignition switch. Is it possible that these two parts are NOT equivalent as Pelican claimed? Or did I somehow break something else in the process?

Answered my own question:

No there is no functional difference between the parts. They both work fine.
My issue was a coincidental hood open sensor that I didn't notice. Adjusted and cleaned. Everything works as it should.
