When you did leather interior to sample, did you start the process prior to build date? In other words, if you had a November build car, could you work out the sample and match months ahead, say in August? Or did the matching process start only at or near build date?

They mention in the order guides 3-6 months delay for this option. I find it hard to believe they could not match all the interior components in less than 30 days, and that you could start that process months ahead of build date, thereby having your car built without delay.

On your 996 with leather-to-sample, do the plastic bits that are normally matched to the leather matched to your color, or are they simply black?

Is the carpet matched to your sample as well?

Any other thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

TIA

ESK is infamous around these parts
Eric,

I looked into a leather to sample before ordering my TT cab. I was considering lipstick red. This was a previous Porsche color from the late 80s. Using a previous color also expedites the process a little bit because some dealers still have old samples.

I know that you must use a current carpet color, for instance black or some other current color. Also, the plastic parts would not be the color of the leather. I think the way to do is to order the large leather package as well (and any other leather options) so that the interior matches.

Eric
