996 Euro ECU Programming??

Hey guys quick question. Has anyone ever had the dealer load up the european Porsche software onto their car? I did this on my 2000 Boxster S years ago and noticed a difference. Higher redline and didnt have to step on the clutch to start it. The tech that did it told me it was good for about 10 horsepower!? Maybe it felt faster in my head who knows. Just wondering if anyone knew anything about this. I work at Porsche of Orlando and a tech here knows how to do it. He said he thought there was no power gain but wasnt sure. Any help is greatly appreciated. If it's free its for me!!!

Andreas, don't waste money ( good if it's free I guess ) or time JUST doing the re-map. Go all out and put some good headers and cats on your car to at least get 25 to 30 more HP. And as we dicussed before, a set of nice sport cams won't hurt either .

Did you finally move into your new place ??

Your better off going with a chip as they are tested using US gas which is usually poorer quality then the gas they get in europe. Premium is like 95 octance in europe (i think) which is more then we have here (unless you always want to mix in 100oct.)
