So far the only person i know from 6speed who got a new engine due to RMS is Robyn, she drove a speed yellow 2003 C2 (now she has a red 996tt). I sure hope she can chime in on this topic. So no one else got new engine? I picked up my car yesterday and the total not covered by porrsche was $720. Luckily i bought the extended warranty from Warranty Direct ($2500 for 50k miles, 4 years, 0 deductable) back in January and at the end i only need to pay $70. Some ppl might think an extended warranty costs way too much. To me at least, i think it's well worth the money because i can truely enjoy driving my car with no worries. BTW it's only 3 months after i bought the extended warraty and it costs the warranty company $650 on repairs already.

I also have an early "04 that had 2 RMS leaks. The third time the leak occured (at about 15K) they found that the bore was out of spec. They replaced the engine with a crate/rebuilt engine. My coolant tank was also leaking. Now I have 26K no problems with new engine / no leaks. Very satisfied. Even when I had the RMS leak - most of the time the drips were no more than I get from my BMW's which seem to leak a bit also. On my last leak - the oil would pour out quickly when the engine was hot and then turned off. That's when the engine need replacing.

Thanks for the info, It's very helpful. For my car the leak was minimal even on the 3rd leak with no oil on the garage floor. If it ever leaks again, i'll make sure i get a new/rebuilt engine. We'll see....
