Stock Speakers w upgraded stereo?

Newport,

I'm crazy about your Kenwood Excelon DDX7015 upgrade. You said you did the install yourself but did not mention speakers. I've got the (upgraded?) Bose system in my 2000 996 Cab4 with the graphic equalizer type-thing. You know how Bose relies on low-power output... I'm concerned that the stock speakers may blow with an upgraded receiver. Did you keep them or replace them?

Gracias,
J

I have the stack speakers in it...It sounds WAY better than before, BUT I am sure it will sound even better when I add my Audison amp and Focal speakers....

Great install. Where is the brain? I heard the nav is a pain in the ***...doesn't allow you to adjust when driving etc . Do you have the ipod adapter? If you do could you post a pic of the menu screens an comment on the ease of use and speed.

Hey guys with Nav(kenwood/pioneer). Do the units have text to speech so it can name the street for the turns?

I really like the unit. You can access all iPod functions through the unit, plus XM radio, sirius, navigation, etc. I would def. recommend it.

unplug the unit, remove the cubby hole, re route the wires, by moving them down, attach the $6 bezel from the dealer to fit in the new location, and you are done.....that is a simplified explanation but its pretty much self explanatory once you get in there, the hardest part is rerouting the wires because its a tight fit.

so all i need to get is a piece from a dealer and the climate control will mount where the existing cubby hole is?

Yup...all you need is the trim piece that fits the climate control in the bottom slot.
