I noticed a brief crunch or grind sound when starting my '04 c4s cab today. No sounds or noise while running. Anybody have this or hear of this? Thanks.

 

The sound may be your starter drive grinding when starting the car. Maybe due to the cold weather, the oils have become more dense causing the starter drive to run dry for a second? I actually exeperienced a similiar noise on my M5 this past week when I tried to start the car after leaving it outside for a couple hours. If the grinding noise continues, bring it to the dealer. Hope this helps.
