Supershargers...

What's the worst case scenario? I'm tempted to pull a trigger on the Evo kit, but I keep having bad dreams about blowing the engine and other nasty stuff...

Anyone feel like sharing what's the worst that can happen with a s/c kit? I know the good parts, just trying to access my risks

Thanks

rost12 there's about 150plus EVO SC'd cars our there so the thing to do is to at least find one near by to you and get a ride in it? See how you like it and that sort of thing. You don't have to feel like you are the "beta" tester or anything like that. There's plenty of cars out there.

To date nobody has "blown" an engine with the kit on their car. It could make a lot more power but it's been tuned to stop any head gaskets from going etc... It's low boost.

Super Charger

I have had mine for over a year and put 7000 miles on it. Runs great. My Neighbor has an 02 CAB, his has been SC for over two years, no problems and he tracks his almost every weekend. I used him as my test before I upgraded. I figured if he could track his almost every weekend for a year with no problems that was good enough for me. Sharkwerks did the work, James did a great job. If you are in San Jose and want to check mine out, let me know.

Mine is #108.

When I was about to pull the trigger on mine one of the things that pushed me over the edge (apart from Karlooz taking me for a spin in his !) was that there are over 100 of these around with no reports of damage.

The other thing was that's it's EVOMS and VF. I like the quality of EVOMS kit, I had the VFLOW and liked the quality, I also ended up with a hand made tow hitch from EVOMS, Todd sold me his last one, again, very high quality.

Find yourself a good installer though, I'm lucky enough to live close to Sharkwerks and James scuffed up his hands and got all the bruises doing mine.

The installer is key, the guy's who have had problems all had inexperienced installers. Just like doing surgery, the first resection is always harder than the 200th.

i would guess the worst part would be a car that hasn't been kept up and wasn't
ready for a s/c if your not going to run high boost and get it installed correctly
you should have no problems most of us here don't oh and if you don't have headers the car is less jerky with them and the power comes on smoother and gives creedence to the daily driver thing

if you look two keys over from the "m" button on your keyboard you will find the "." button. feel free to throw a few in there

as the others mentioned, an experienced installer is the key to sucess with the EVO kit.
