Rattling exhaust tip :(

Hey guys,

Today when I was out cruising my right exhaust can/tip started rattling on idle, loud to, so I went out of the car to have a look at it and found out that if I press it with my hand, just with little force it stops and gets quiet..

I tried to take the tip of and sprayed it with some WD40 but it wont even budge, what to do? It is really annoying

The car is a MY2003 and has the PSE Tequipment exhaust...

Thanks in advance!

The sleeve inside the tip was loose on mine. You should be able to take out the tip. Did you try turning the bolt that holds the tip when the car is cold? Try some more lubricant and use a good socket with long racket arm to turn it off. Your dealer can do this too if you are under warranty.

Sometimes a little heat will do the trick. With exhaust bolts they can be heated and removed. Let me know if you need some help.... Only if you're in the Los Angeles area that is.

Take care,

I had the same problem, since car was under warranty I just took it to the dealer, they said the tip (not suere where was cracked) so they replaced it.

I loosened the tip a tiny bit yesterday and it seemed the problem went away, but the rattle is still there...

The rattle is there at idle btw, any ideas guys? It sounds like an old Volvo

Thanks!

Are you sure it's the exhaust tip and not something else?
