Tiptronic Help

So I have the oppertunity to get a GREAT deal on a 99 996 c2. only thing is it has tiptronic, not a 6 speed like I orginally wanted. Now I do deal with traffic everyday so it might be nice to have the auto, but with 56000 miles, am i going to need to replace the tranny soon, and do I loose the P-Car feel and power with the tiptronic?

Any advice would be great!

The Tip is certainly slower from a start than is the manual, and the '99 version of the Tip is less advanced/adaptive than the later generations (Tiptronic S), plus the response when toggling manually for downshifts is not as fast as some would like. However, the hadling is no different than a manual version, and there is greater convenience in congested traffic. I would recommend driving the Tip and manual versions both for comparison, and if you like theTip and it's a great price, you'll have made an informed decision based on your preference. Good luck with your purchase.

BrianD996 is infamous around these parts
I have a 99 Tip and got it mainly due to traffic.

The Porsche's Tip shifts gears very smoothly and for me the manual buttons are very responsive.

Give it a Drive! ......I haven't looked back!
