It's about time to get new tires, and I'm thinking about getting new wheels at the same time. I'm a performance minded person, so I'd like to have wheels as light as possible. However, I want something that's within budget, say $2000 for the wheels. What's your suggestion?

BTW, is GT3 wheels the lighest OEM out there? And how do you guys like the service of Wheel Enhancement?

I have ordered both wheels and tires from Wheel Enhancement, and have had great success with them. Tremendous product knowledge, great inventory, and fantastic service. I think there are a number of great sources for wheels and tires on here, including Imagine Auto, Sharky, Damon and others. But since you asked specifically about Wheel Enhancement, I have had great experience with them. I suspect that any of the board sponsors would do a great job for you though.

I currently have turbo twist on my C2. I'm wondering if the GT3 wheel will cut any weight?

THe 19in "lightweight 5 spoke" from 997 looks tempting too! Which one will be lighter, GT3 or 5 spoke?

996 Carrera 5 spoke 18". They weigh about 18lbs in the front and about 20 lbs in the rear. There a little stock but light stuff. I dont think you can buy a better aftermarket wheel. And if you can who wants to pay $5000. If your not all about the bling then thats my choice !

Well, I'm only considering the wheels within reasonable budget. Thinking about getting used OEM wheels and custom paint them.

I bought my SSR's through Damon at Tire Rack. He's a top notch professional and just a great guy to talk to for advice on wheels and tires.
Great buying experience, just my .02.

You can get the centers done in any way you want....It doesnt come like that to my knowledge but the centers can be custom painted/powder coated..
