Question Warranty Question?

I was wondering if I could get some opinions and feedback. My outside temp gauge goes up to 140 degrees and then shuts off when I drive with the air on when it is hot out and the car is stopped. When I start to move the temp goes back down.

I took it to the dealer and he replaced the sensor. That did not fix the problem. So he called PCNA and they said this behavior (described above) is normal. The service rep said that the fan that functions with the AC blows hot air on the sensor, that causes the rising of the sensor temp and then the shut down(the sensor shuts down not the car). Is this correct? If this is normal than it would happen to everyone when the AC is used and the car is stopped.

So, does this happen to everyone?
Any opinions?

Neil, all I can say is this does not happen to my car. Sounds like BS though.

How can the outside temp be 140 degrees even with hot weather and radiator putting out heat?

My temp sensor reads temp accurately and doesn't fluctuate that much.

Are you missing any ducts or bracket by the sensor area? Is the sensor properly attached?

Have dealer take another car out for run with your car w/ identical settings etc. This will prove there is a fault with your car. You may want to go to another dealer instead.
