Cost to replace clutch in 996

I am having the RMS replaced in my 996. The shop suggested the clutch might need to be replaced while they are at it. Could someone let me know the cost of a clutch for a 99 996? Thank you in advance for your help.

Best

If your going to replace the clutch you might as well put in a aluminum flywheel more HP ~ 20 and quicker revving....what a deal! Check with Pelican parts you can get a high performance clutch 600 dollars and lightweight flywheel $900 dollars.

I have a brand new evo clutch and lightweight flywheel if you are interested in doing that upgrade. Let me know...

If you are looking to go stock for replacement, the internet dealers sell the clutch repair kits for about $425. They occasionally come up on eBay as well. An aftermarket Sachs (OEM manufacturer) repair kit on eBay comes around $325-375, I believe. If they are in there for RMS replacement, the additional labor should be minimal (1 hour?). The converse is true as well. If you need to replace your clutch, doing the RMS should take little additional time.

Non-stock flywheels have the potential downside of additional drivetrain noise at idle.

Labor for changing a clutch has been quoted to me at anywhere between $600-800 here in the DC area.
