Porsche power shifter (option: CCZ)

Hi guys,

I am seriously think about ordering the last 04 996 C2 (or just wait for the new 997). My dealer told me that there is a new option called CCZ (Power shifter - $790) which reduce throw by 35%. Does anyone has any info about this? I'm worried that this will make the shifter more notchy.

Thanks,
Peter

Order Guide for '04:

CCZ Sport Shifter
Reduces the shift throw up to 35%
Note: Increased shifting effort

MSRP: $790

Have not tried it yet, but I believe many folks have taken delivery and then swapped for a B&M short shifter. Might be less money.

From what I hear, it is the same as the B&M unit which can be found for $250 and down.

I put the Porsche one in Armand's C4S and posted info on it on renntech. The Porsche instructions say 37% but marketing says 35%. I measured 36.85% on Armand's car. It is identical to the B&M and I took pictures of both side by side.

I tell people to drive a car that has it first before they decide. Jeff

B & M builds that part for Porsche, if you go to the B & M website you can see the affiliation, and a B & M can be purchased for about $200.
