Wheels for my car

Ok guys, I have this narrowed down to two wheels I am going to put on my C4.

18X8 and 18X10 with 225's in front and 285 or 275 in back Lightweight Carrera wheels-they weigh 23 lbs in front and 25 lbs in back.

OR

19X8.5 and 19X10.5 with 235's in front and 295's in back, they weigh 27 lbs in front and 30 lbs in back.

Now the question I have is will the extra weight with the 19s and the bigger tires for the 19s take away from peformance? What will be the effect of the bigger wheels and extra weight?

19 will feel heavier when braking and smoother during cruising due to increased diameter and contact patch.

Either one is a good choice. I have the 18" and thin spoke makes the rims look larger - many non enthusiasts ask if they are 19". Having said that, a 19" HRE 542 or Iforge will have huge bling factor without much sacrific in performance. Another thing to consider is cost and where you park. A set of $6k wheel is a big target to be stolen even with wheel locks and alarm. I doubt people will steal your 18" stock rims though.

The 19's will cost you a SLIGHT amount in performance due to the increase in rolling mass; however, the look WELL offsets the 1% loss in performance IMO. Unless you are racing the car and need that extra 0.1/sec each lap.

Save some $ and buy my hre's

Ok so im thinking im gonna get the 18" lightweight carrera wheels, i do not want performance on my car to suffer(even the slightest amount, plus i love the look of them). I have a question about tire sizing. can the profile be the same front and rear. can i use 225/32 YR18 in front and 275/35 YR18 in back or does the back need to be 285/39 YR 18?
