I am considering a 03 C4S purchase at a dealer w/ 2000 miles. Spoke to the previous owner over the phone (after coaxing it out of the dealer) who was real cool. He mentioned he had not had any significant problems. Except.

He said he thought he felt intermittent slippage in thedrivetrain. This was his first Porsche, so he wasn't sure if it was the clutch or not, or possibly his imagination. He had also bought this car used, which had about 500 miles at the time.

Have any of you ever felt this sensation? This prior owner had no experience with Porsches. Is this a big red flag for clutch issues from abuse or something worse?

Unfortunately I have not driven this particular car myself yet...

Hard to say rerun. I've clocked over 17,000 miles on my '03 C4S in less than a year, and have had no issues at all.

 

Drove both C2 and C4s! Very smooth! Forgot to mention the C4s has 10k on clock!
