I've been doing a little research in effort to find the perfect "shine" that lasts longer than 15 minutes on my black 996. I stumbled into this the other day and i was wondering if anyone has tried this method out...particularily the Klasse products and the p21s cleansing lotion??

Seem like a decent write-up, but it would take a few bucks to buy all of this stuff. It would be nice to see is anyone has a review before taking the plunge

Autopia is an excellent resource but the one thing that bugs me is that they will push specific products rather than let the customer do their own research and choose what's best for them.
Read the article and disregard the products but focus on the methods and process.
Wash / clay / polish / glaze (not a big fan) / seal / wax is a great regimine but go to the forums on autopia and do some research on what products you want to buy not what they're pushing on you.
For instance Klasse Sealant Glaze is a great product but one of the least user friendly products I've ever used and this is especially true on a black car. You have to apply it in such light coats that you can hardly even tell there's anything on the surface of the car otherwise if you apply it thick enough to see it you'll end up with streaking that's horribly difficult to get out.
The other products mentioned, Klasse AIO and P21S are not bad but not at the top of my list either.
Like I said...it's an excellent article for learning the process and you can even download an entire e-book from their site on detailing that's a wonderful resource esp for someone with a black car, BUT ignore the product recommendations and do some research on their forums to make your own educated opinion on what products to use for your car.

I have done the same method that Autopia and Andy have mentioned with both my BMW and my Jeep. I have yet to try it on the 996. I can say with the other vehicles I have used this method on, they both look great. Quite a bit of prep work for the clay and polish but once everything is done and smoothed out. The Klasse AIO and Sealer Glaze work well and I didn't have too much problems getting it off if I over applied. True if you do over do it you will rub to get it off but no more than lower end waxes.
Finish it off with some PS21 wax and the car looks amazing.
It's a lot of work but the results are very good. Better than your typical wax job.
