how much trouble, how expensive, and do they function correctly? xenon is the one option thinking of maybe dropping in lieu of something else... seems like i might not even notice them there or not there...would be even more compelling if i knew that i could just add them later...

What year is your car? 99-01 or 02-04?

I don't think you can add them easily. with out major wiring modification. Do a search it has been discussed in several threads. What option are you trading them for? I think they are a option must have. Most options you can add however, this one you can not. Unless you have a pre 02 996.

Any time you add high intensity lights, you must perform a wiring modification. I added litronics to my '02 C-2 and it was an easy job. I would imagine that Xenons would be just about the same.
Wiring directions come with the new light kit.

I was under the impression the Newer cars 02+ could not retro fitted with Litronics easily. I know the 99-01' cars are a snap.

The pre facelift cars were a simple retrofit. The facelift cars are not so easy. From what I have been told splicing into the wire harness is required for full functionality.
