I'm interested in your feedback as to the differences (I know they are vast) on your driving experiences on the track and what I can expect. Advice, warnings, anything is appreciated. I'm doing my first event in April at Buttonwillow (California) and can't wait to get this car out to the track.

Thanks in advance!

It's a whole new ballgame in a 996. The 996 is a blast to drive fast....once you understand the differences in controlling these two different cars. I went from a 2.5L Boxster to a 320hp '02 Coupe! The Boxster will feel more like it is on rails, just up until it lets go and you start your spin. The 996 will let the tail start to move, but learning to control that with throttle and steering input is vastly more rewarding (IMO) than my previous drives with the Boxster on track. You can become VERY fast after mastering this. You also pick up your confidence level with the increased skill level.

Nothing better than coming into the turn in a 996, setting your turn, and performing the ballet between the steering input, and throttle modulation. If you have been on the track with your Boxster, get a 996 instructor to go out and show you the differences. A 996 responds a little differently to mid corner throttle lift than did your Boxster.

Anyways...the torque, power, and speed will make your day on the track!!
