GRIOT'S ITALIAN AIR HORNS - installed with pics!
OK latest mod...I hated the way the stock horns sounded on our cars. I knew I was going to replace them with air horns. I bought the GRIOTS Italian air horn and am very happy. The horn is very LOUD and very EURO sounding. Exactly what I wanted.
The only hassle is like most of you know..you have to remove the whole dang bumper cover. Here are pics... Before we started..I drove the car on wooden planks for give it some raise. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/126/3...0de9a72f5a.jpg Bumper is ready to come off.. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/138/3...9120290ce4.jpg and off it comes... http://farm1.static.flickr.com/151/3...023f76640a.jpg OMG she is naked!! http://farm1.static.flickr.com/150/3...200bc6f9ba.jpg my bumper cover.. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/54/34...e59e139082.jpg looking for a good place to install this... http://farm1.static.flickr.com/128/3...f1f8ff9d65.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/150/3...d392c53204.jpg OEM horns http://farm1.static.flickr.com/149/3...439332b8ca.jpg perfect placement http://farm1.static.flickr.com/135/3...bed8efd15e.jpg thanks for looking! next up...Nav system in the ride! |

thx jorge It is pretty straight forward...but if you want to hide the wires etc and make it look clean there is some moving around you have to do. |
Irving, I can hear your "Red Horns" from Vietnam, man!!! What's the deal here???? Can a guy get his beauty sleep.
I'll bring back a set of Daiwoo 18-wheelers air horn for your pleasure. |
thats probably, the first air horn mod in a p-car...ever. AI you gonna start a trend or what! I gotta hand it to you, thats not your typical mod.
|
Could you possibly record a small soundclip and share it with us?
|
Irving, that's the most interesting mod I have ever heard for a Porsche! You are funny, man...
BTW, where/when you gonna need it since we lived in So. Cal..... ?!! |
For those in the socal area...at the next "coffee social" you can hear it for yourselves...its pretty loud.
I also like it because it sounds different...not a typical horn noise. Now it sounds more EURO baby! Just like a Ferrari? ahahhaa.... |

I put in air horns 3 years ago after a truck backed up into the Boxster....
Except I left in the original horns. Now, that's loud. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...install009.jpg |
