There are gross misconceptions about just WHY an insurance company issues a Salvage Title for a given vehicle. I have read your opinions as to why vehicles are issues a salvage title and here are some facts:

MISCONCEPTIONS AND OPINIONS:

1. "salvaged means an insurance company said it would cost more to properly repair a car than the car is worth. It could have been flooded, fire, accident, stolen and stripped, etc"

2. What Newport is saying is the car was TOTALLED Beyond repair! I wouldn't put my life on the line to put a car like that on the track? What if the structural integrity of the car has been compromised and you only find out when you crash someday at the track and the car disintegrates around you..."

3. " I would never buy anything from them. salvaged means it was crashed, basically"

JUST FOR EDUCATION AND FACTS:

1. There are basically 3 Elements to the type of Salvage Title cars:

a. The Type of Damage: Cars that are involved in some type of damage (accident, flood, fire, theft)

b. The Degree of Damage: (Frame Damage, Panel Damage, Missing Parts or damaged parts,)

c. The Safety of Repair: (Too expensive to repair properly, beyond repair to safety)

2. Insurance companies do not ONLY issue a salvage title to a car because repairing it properly is more expensive then to pay off the owner of the car. There are many different reasons why an insurance company issues a salvage title to a damaged vehicle.

a. We had a 05 Gallardo with $5K damage given a salvage title by an insurance company and the owner paid off for the car. Why? The car is worth $145K, the owner does not want a repaired car, he wants a non-repaired car, so he sues the insurance company. Insurance company (instead of paying for legal fees) pays off the owner, sell the car to us for $85K and has no liability. We spend $5-$6K on a rocker panel, windshield, A-arm, rotor and wheel and sell it for $125K. The car is perfect.

b. We got a Porsche 996 Turbo, theft recovery. Missing both airbags, right side cooling system, headlights, taillights. Car was taken and not recovered for months, the insurance company paid the owner off. Months later the car was recovered, issued a salvage title, even if nothing was taken from the car, because the insurance company paid off the owner, it MUST have a salvage title issued to it. We buy the car, remove all the panels and install brand new OEM Turbo panels and sell the car.

c. We get a car that side swiped something, damage tot he front bumper, headlight, fender, door, rear quarter panel, rear taillight and rear bumper. Looks pretty bad right? remove all of the above panels and it looks identical to a car with no damage if you removed all of the same panels. The key is "Frame Damage" if the frame of the car is not damaged, then the panels are bolt on and bolt off just like your turbo's and headers.

* Never buy a car with damage tot he frame because when you bend the piece of metal one way, then you try to bend it back the other way to repair it, it loses it's strength, just like bending a coke can back and fourth. So, unless it is completely replaced, it will never be as safe as new. And to replace parts are the frame are not cost effective. So absolutely, if a salvage title car has frame damage, do not buy it. But there are a lot of great condition cars out there with salvage titles that are excellent buys.

* And that is what we seek out, theft recovery or panel damaged cars with salvage title cars, because we replace nearly all the panels on the cars anyway with new OEM Turbo panels. It's cost effective to do it this way for us. However, we do have clients who prefer a non-salvage title car and that is what we provide for them.

* And the reason some of your see a lot of the same cars posted is because we use a hand full of them as demos to attract orders for people who have their own Porsches and want us to update or convert them to one of our showroom models. And we constantly duplicate certain looks and colors so they may look the same buy if you go on our website and compare the VIN numbers they are different cars.

* I hope this sheds some light on your questions and concerns about us. And We build some spectacular looking Custom Porsches, otherwise we wouldn't be on the covers of major magazines like December 2007 Holiday issue of the Du Pont Registry, the November 2007 Cover of Makes&Models and January 2008 Cover of Luxury Auto. We are Internationally famous for our Wicked-7 Mega Widebody Porsches.

* Don't be haters, view some of our Porsches or ask people that actually own them because passing judgment on us. Facts always hold more weight then baseless opinions.

Wish everyone the best.

My opinion (I have been around Porsches all of my life) is hardly useless.
Wicked is synonymous with crap in the Porsche world.
What you do to Porsches should be against the law. The 1% of Porsche owners that you consider your clients do not know enough about them to know what is good and what is bad. All they want is a riced out Porsche and that is what you give them. Simple as that.

I was inspired by the older 1970-1980 Porsche 930 Widebody Turbo's. That is what I love and that is what first attracted me to Porsches. With the 996 Turbo, they lost that Wide Sexy Look that attracked me to them. So some years ago, I set out to try to bring that back to the new generation Porsches. If you park a stock 996 or 997 Turbo next to one of my Wicked-7 Mega Wide Body Porsches, you will know what I mean. And Thousands of people agree with me, I have people come from all over the world to photograph and write about my cars. If you are turned off by my work, cool, but do not knock it, unless you have seen one in person. Thanks for the welcome

You say it's crap. Why? be very specific so I can understand. Not just words, give me some actual specifics?? And TRUST me it's not 1% And why would you think 3 Porsche Dealerships would want to carry my line if you (Mr. I've been around Porsche all my life) think they are crap? Answer that one for me, expert

Okay, I am going to hold you to that. Give me your word that you are going to eat an entire shoe (with Mustard if you like), when I give you confirmation of a Porsche Dealership carrying my line? The deal will be final my Summer 08 and you will eat this shoe at the 2008 German Auto Fest in CA. DEAL?
