Removing exhaust cans -- rear bumper off?
Removing exhaust cans -- rear bumper off?
i need to remove my rear exhaust cans to do the PSE hack. is it pretty straight forward to do? just put the rear on the jacks and do it? anything to look out for? does the rear bumper need to be removed for this? thanks...
it's faster if you put the rear on jackstands instead of doing one side at a time.
you don't need to take the bumper off.
it is much easier however to take the rear wheels off. that will give you plenty of room.
you will need those reverse pliars to properly remove the clips that hold the muffler joints together.
the rest is pretty straight forward. you may want to mark where your clamps are on the cat pipes so you'll get them back in the exact same spot.

I agree with DD... take the tires off unclamp/bolt the exhaust. You can leave the tips in and remove the can towards the wheel well rather than from the bumper end. Theres alot of room in the well to take the whole can out in one piece.
sweet, thanks guys. it will probably be a next weekend project. this weekend is putting in correct TT front bumper grills, GT3 console remove and front break wear sensors (removed old ones when replaced front breaks)
