Thanks! I've been mulling over the whole IMS thing and getting pretty paranoid about it these past few days
Finally decided to get it done (and maybe the RMS seal), at the same time as the 30k service, as soon as the weather warms up - seems the sensible thing to do, esp. as it's not been driven much.
Just figured out the car didnt come with traction control, so may look at retrofitting it... a PCA drivers Ed is on the cards as well.

My 1999 996 C2 w/40k miles. She was in storage for 10 years without being moved once, and I purchased her for an unbelievable price. Added a muffler bypass exhaust and get compliments everywhere I go (but I'm now officially deaf). It's by far the best car I've owned.

Love it! Thank you so much for posting that.
Awesome pictures! It looks like you got a real gem. Can't believe it sat for so long. Now you just need some side markers

I just purchased my first Porsche, a 1999 996 Carrera 2, silver with a gray interior and a 6 speed manual. It has 67K on it currently, and the IMS bearing and the clutch was replaced at 63K (the original bearing was in perfect shape). The car is tight and has no rattles, and does not have a single ding or dent on it.
I really love driving it.
