Hi ,
has anyone realised how close 991 headlights are to 996 . I was able to pick up a cheap pair of 991 headlights and wanted to put them on my 996 . I didn't want to ruin the metal fenders so I purchased a cheap kit to experiment .
I am happy with the results so far

996 lights next to 991 very close in shape and size if the fogs were cut out

997 gt2 kit with 991 light's adapted

kit attached just need to add side skirts and paint

 

Looks great and totally changes/updates the car.

*Be sure to hang on to those original headlights and fenders though....
I feel like they are going to come back in a big way!
(there... I said it!)

Yes i will be keeping all the parts, I agree with you what's old will be new again. I just wanted to play a bit with the car . It can be put back to original if needed.

Yep (satin pearl white wrap). Still thinking if I shld tint the tail lights (smoke)

 

I love that color/texture… thinking I might wrap mine too sometime down the road…

 

I’m on board with either option… I like the GT3 checker… I would say no on the taillight tint though (unless you want to run with the clapped out Honda crowd?)

 

 

Just picked her up a week ago. Already in love and have plans for us. I'll post in relevant threads but already know a few things that need to be done like suspension update, steering stalks need to be replaced (anyone tackled this on their own? PM me), and engine mounts replaced.

Please to get her wrapped and replace OEM wheels.

Dang that has to be one of the rarest 996.1s. Looks great in that shade of yellow too.

 

Yea I really like my Ferrari Yellow car it also has some nice factory options like yellow stitching on interior even on the hard back painted seats, also three spoke steering wheel, Sport Classic wheels and more. But here is my favorite driver, an early amber 1999 Guards Red coupe
with great options especially the XAA Aero with Taco wing. It also has a Jake Raby 3.8 Stage II engine which makes the performance so smooth and strong. The truth for me is every 996 has its character and personality.
