Question

You really should come out, Colin. I do have a question: who did the paint job? I am looking for a good place right now.

Full review of my paint guy: I went with a guy off of Rosemead Blvd. who painted my daily driver one year ago.. the paint has been holding up reasonably well, but I have some rock chips on the front bumper that I don't think could have been prevented. So I decided to go for it on the Porsche. He taught me a ton of things about the art of painting and among other things, I realized that it's REALLY hard to match the color of any car that's more than a couple years old. Your original paint fades ever so slightly, so it's not just a matter of ordering the factory code. Throw in the metallic flake and it's a real ***** getting everything right, but everything turned out very well. In some lights, I think I see a very slight mismatch in color, but then in other lights, I see none. I looked at my original bumper and guess what, it was slightly different from the body as well. I just never bothered to scrutinize it. I learned that the factory has different paint codes for plastic vs. metal parts. He even helped me install the parts free of charge, then wet sanded and polished everything to a mirror finish. The prep work on fiberglass was such that I would think thrice before buying glass parts again. He pointed out tiny little details that I didn't even spot, and fixed them all before painting. He told me not to bring him any more fiberglass parts however . Too much prep work to get it perfect. I would be glad to introduce you if you want. We've become very well acquainted over the past couple months.

for those looking for a turbo rear, check out anziano's as well. the vents are a little nicer as they're pretty much an exact duplicate of the factory vents. they have more depth than most of the other ones.

you car looks great by the way. nicely done. the rims look sweet.

yes, all fiberglass parts are a pain to work with and require a ton of prep. nature of the beast. hence they're so much cheaper than their poly siblings.

I checked out Anziano's for the rear bumper too. They have the holes under the license plate that turned me off. NRauto.com is another option, and they are polyurethane... but they have bumperettes.

ANZIANO'S

Hmm.. not sure about whether they are still available. But you could also look into the BBS LM. They were my first choice, but these beat them on price.

ANZIANO'S

You can get that bumper with or without the rear holes. You just have to specify. Personally, I like the holes. The side vents just look 10x better than all the other turbo bumper replicas. Most of them just have straight lines with no depth at all. It just doesn't look factory to me.
