I think my car sounds less like a sewing machine and more like a race car now. I can't really see how it would ever sound like a ricer... but to each his or her own.

Britt: I am considering an exhaust system for my "S". I either go with the cargraphic or fabspeed. I love both of them and I am so confused

I just put my fabspeed exhaust on today. I really like the throaty sound waaaay better than stock. I didn't think it was too loud at all. In fact I would be just fine if it was even louder than it is now. But then again I've had aftermarket exhaust systems on basically every car I've ever owned, so maybe I'm used to a louder sound. I was expecting more of a low rumbling V8 sound, but it actually has more of a higher pitched scream. I still like it, and I am very happy with the new mod. I do notice a hint more of an exhaust smell though... I'm hoping that will go away with some more use?

I don't have Fabspeed but do have GHL, and yes, the mufflers definately seem to go through a period of burn-in. My mufflers "smelled" for a short while too. Hope u enjoy your new cans!

I'm debating between the Fabspeed exhaust and PSE. Any recommendations (or pros/cons)? Thanks.

I installed the Fabspeed, and love it!! Car sounds much sportier and meaner even. Once you put one in, you'll be looking for overpasses to go under as well, it sounds absolutely sick in the upper RPM ranges!!!

Thanks. I just ordered the Fabspeed a few minutes ago. Could I just go to a local muffler shop, like a Midas, to have it installed?

I had the exhaust installed for cheap, but I also know the owner of the performance shop. I would be scared to just take it to Midas. Make sure the mechanic has some experience installing an exhaust on a 996. You can go to the place I took my car to in Gardena, and install probably will be less than $100.
