These pics remind me of some that I have seen in the past. The photo would be of a car on a normally busy street but with the shutter open for a specific amount of time, the cars around it all seem to 'disappear'.
Take your car out during the day and find a place to put the camera so passing cars won't shock wave it when they pass. A place like I-10 for example. The car would look like it was on a deserted roadway!
