996 question - ignition
996 question - ignition
I have about 45k miles on my 996 C2, I went to start it the other day and everything turned on as usual, but the ignition wouldn't attempt to turnover. It is a 6 speed and the clutch has to be pressed to the floor b/f starting.
I was wondering, is their a switch of some sort under the pedal that could need replacement...or is there a common cause for this?
Thank you!

Thanks Catman
I ended up getting my baby towed this morning...what a pain in the A$$. I think from looking at the Pelican Board, this is only a $35 dollar part, but it will be interesting what kind of bill I will eventually be stuck with. Ugh.
Thanks again for the reply...once I have the final verdict, I will reply to this thread with the update...maybe this will help someone in the future.

The verdict with mine was the car for some reason didn't recognize my key...really wierd. My mechanic ended disconnecting something under the driver's seat and upon reconnecting it, the car turned right over. He somehow tricked or reset the theft protection ignition shut off. I wish I could be more specific, I hope this can help! Good luck.
