'01 996 C4 and RMS?

Heya,
Just bought my first P-car two months ago.
a stunning black/black '01 C4, with 16k (!!) miles on it, Porsche Certified, from a dealership.
I got a two years Porsche warranty on it as well, after getting PPI done.

needless to say... the car is amazing.
it handles like nothing else, grip like its on rails, and sounds like it was born in hell. (it came with the Sports Exhausts option,as well as factory areo-kit and short-shift). but i'm guessing you know what i'm talking about.

Few days ago, PSM and ABS warning lights goes on while driving (moderate driving, mind you)
I thought it was odd, but decided to pay closer attention to the car.
this happends twice more in the next couple of days.
plus, the engine was feeling like its about to choke.
the engine also stopped twice in a couple of days, which i've found troublesome.
Than I started to smell this odd oil burnning smell after driving.
and paniced.

to make a long story short,
I immediatly scheduled an examination in my local Porsche dealership (Chicago area), where they've discovered an oil leak, (which explains the smell), and now they are replacing the RMS under warranty.

My question is... How fixable is RMS in 01 996?
Should i expect more "quality" time with the dealership's Cayenne in the near future? or once this is done, i'm back to my precious?

thanks in advance.
\Eitan.

Welcome to the 6 and congrats on your purchase. With the new seal, you should be good to go for a long time, they have it figured out by now. Post some pix and enjoy it!

You still need to figure out what is going with your ABS/PSM/engine chocking. RMS wouldn't explain any of these.

Usually PSM/ABS lights means the MAF sensor is getting strange readings or I've also heard people say a wheel sensor.

Hmm, how would the mass air flow sensor be connected to the ABS/PSM?

Wheel sensor sounds like a lot more viable explanation.
