some new carbon for my car
I am going to get flamed for this but please let me just say that this is only my opinion and not meant to offend anyone.
In re: to Brucem's front shot in the beginning of this post - I don't like it at all. The front bumper (is that fiberglass) does not fit correctly - the lines (gaps) are different on each fender, too many rivets (or screws or what ever that is), the flared fenders?? I don't even know how to say that it does not fit a porsche. It just seems very "trans am" to me. Anyone can butcher their car with all kinds of stuff but why would anyone do that to a Porsche?? Again, I do not mean to offend anyone - just stating my opinion with all due respect.

It's cool guys. For those of you that are not into the "race world" of Porsche race cars you will not know either. The car was built by this company http://theracersgroup.com/

and is the same parts used and sold by Porsche for the RSR race car. My car was originally built in 2002 and NOTHING on the car is fiberglass. All carbon fiber and carbon kevlar. So to fix the fender would cost a good chunk of change due to the fact that a different fender would be needed and not rivets
. This car was built with factory Porsches parts. So if you consider factory parts butcher... well then it is
but I love it
and yes I do plan on being at HIN LA
Thanks everyone

For some reason, the cars on the track seem to fit in the world of track cars and they seem appropriate on the track. I love watching those cars too. What I was referring to was the extrapolation of the "track" car to use on the street and all the stuff that goes with it. It just seems a bit too much for me - for a street car. Takes away from the refined look that Porsche makes for street cars. For example, I wouldn't want to put NASCAR body panels on a Ford Taurus (or whatever a NASCAR equivalent is these days) and drive around on the street - however, those same panels on an appropriate car with guts under the hood would be great on the track and would fit. Just my opinion.
BTW - I meant no offense in saying "fiberglass." I have not doubt that the material is carbon fiber - all I meant was that the fit is not precise.
In the end, I'm sure you have fun with it on the track as well as the street. Enjoy!! - as we all do with our toys.
