Question Help - How to set Radio Stations

I generally cosider myself to be a technologically advanced guy, but after having my car for 3 weeks now, I still can't figure out how to set my radio station pre-sets. I do not have a manual, and I searched this forum and Rennlist, and still no help. Maybe I'm not putting the correct search terms in, but be assured, that I did try. In all of my other cars, I would just turn to a station I wanted, and press and hold the pre-set button.

I have a 2000 996, with the standard radio with 10 pre-set buttons. How do I set my stations? I think I got one set, but have no idea how I did it, and it isn't even a station I like. I just remember hearing the radio 'beep' and the station was set.

I just sat in the car for 15 minutes trying to figure it out. Still didn't break the code!

Thanks in advance.

this confused me at first too. just hold the button down for about 5 seconds. the stupid thing is that the radio will switch the station back to the original preset station first, keep holding and eventually it will change to the new station and it'll beep to let you know that it's set.

i'm not sure why the radio was designed this way, weirdo germans.

Thanks Red and Flash. I wasn't holding it down long enough. You're right flash, when I hit the button to hold down, it would go back to the original pre-set, and I thought it didn't work.

Thanks again.
