What do you have against old posts? Sure some of the content is still relevant! Reminds me of a while back on RL someone was drumming up all sorts of old IMS threads.

I was doing searches on specific topics when this came up. Plus I needed 15 posts before I could IM the previous owner of the car I bought. Hey, I've got a good subject line for a new post: BITE ME! Take that and stuff it in your tail pipe.

Of course, if you were joking, so am I.

+1. i use my C4S as a daily driver. 8-9k mi + 1-2 k track mi per year. great all around car. much more roomy than the 993.

of course, once you drive it for awhile, modification come so expect them.

love the car.

would only trade it for a TT or GT3.

Its interesting that you are between the 335i and the 996...

I commuted 2 months with a red on red 335i and actually still think people don't give that car the appreciation it deserves...

At the end of the day a Porsche is a Porsche...

I purchased my 911 a little over a year ago and have daily driven it. I was between an M3, S4, or the 911. I always wanted a 911 but was afraid that it wouldn't give me the utility that I needed. But the 911 has been great I can get plenty of groceries etc in the trunk/hood and have had no mechanical issues with the car. It is a great daily driver and I do not regret my decision one bit.

I have a 2000 996 C2 with 119K miles - and the car runs GREAT!! and I drive it almost everyday. Why own one and not drive it?? - it's not a picture. Like a good workout - keeps it in shape - no workout = out of shape and he ailments begin. My good friend just purchased an '88 Targa with 275K miles and we drove from CA to TX with no problems - it drove as though it were new - performance was amazing.

My approach is - keep up with regular maintenance and if something breaks - replace it and keep driving!!

Um why do you have a link to a video on how to install a shifter in a Tiburon?

I think my screename sums up my opinion on this subject fairly well... I have been driving mine everyday for the past year and a half. The wife has an SUV so if we are going out with friends or shopping for bulky items it may sit from time to time, but otherwise it is the first choice when heading out the door.

When the rare weekend goes by that I don't get to drive it (or 3 weeks when I am out of the country) I still get giddy walking towards the door with the keys in my hand.

This resurrected thread helped me confirm what I knew to be right: I should buy a 996 for my daily. One week down and I am happier every day. Farewell BMW's of yester years.
