one final wheel fitment question

ok, i am getting ready to pull a $5K trigger on these BBS wheels. damon @ tirerack says they will not fit a 996 C2 -- but my math (and rennlist folks) say it should:

RS976 - DBPK 19x8.5 ET: 53
RS977 - DBPK 19x11 ET: 60

anybody with good math and explanation skills can help me "get it"?

here is the math i did (Wheel 1 is OEM, Wheel 2 is new BBS):

hmmm...the rears might rub, 67mm seams to be agressive as it is. 60mm forget it if its lowered...you cam always push it out with spacers, but why, its new wheels.

Go to 1010tires.com and look in the tech section. They have an offset calculator that will allow you to compare the clearances between stoock wheels and the ones you are considering.

tirerack claims the following works (OZ SuperLeggera):

18x11 Rear
265/35-18
ET: +63mm

the ones i want are (BBS RS-GT):

19x11 Rear
295/30-19
ET: +60mm

would 3mm really make such a huge difference??

63mm should work...but it depend on the tires as they have there own version of "295" width...I find Pirelli have a wider 295 than Mich and should go with the Mich or even smaller. You should be OK with Mich.

Edit: just noticed 63mm is 18"...yeah, should fit nice
