First Service

I'm getting mixed answers from each Porsche dealership I call regarding the first servce.

I have an 02 996 with 5K miles on it. Oil has never been changed.
One dealership told me the oil was good for 10k miles and time was not an issue. Another dealer told be I should do a complete service including an oil change.

What do you recomend I do at this time, if anything?

The manual says oilchange/maintenance every 15k. You can do it sooner for peace of mind.

The maintenance manual lists recommended maintenance, and I recall there's a low mileage annual maintenance recommended which includes an oil change. Regardless, I would get the oil changed. It been 5K miles and the car is probably 2+ years old.

Yes, I did the Annual service that is recommended for cars with low mileage (less than 8 k I believe, mine has 3k ). They do an all around check, oil change, test run, re-seal the doors and jams (stops some of the squeaks and rattles), and a bunch of other stuff. But it comes at a price of $400. I think its time to sign up for the PCA membership
