So I'm up in Fresno this week for my friend's bachelor's party and I had my 60k tuneup done while I was up here. The guy did an awesome job, but noted that the inner part of my rear tires were done...down to visible white threads and that it was essential I get them replaced before heading back to LA as well as an alignment. He strongly recommended not exceeding 70mph saying they could blow at any time. Now, here's the problem...not many Porsches in Fresno so the tires are tough to find!

I currently have Toyo 275/35/18 FZ4s on the rear (I believe these were replaced by the Proxes 4 model) but I can't find 275 or 265 Toyos on Tire Rack's website...where's our Tire Rack guy on here? Any other suggestions to where I may be able to overnight a pair of Toyos over? The other option is to replace all 4, but the tech said the front 2 are fresh and I'd obviously prefer to save the several hundred bucks.

Any suggestions or places to call? Thanks!
-Brian

Try discount tires....they are a chain so they can move things around pretty quick....

I use these guys...

www.1010tires.com

They have the Toyo proxes4 in 275/35R18 size for $266 CDN per tire but it looks like they aren't open on the weekends. (M-F only) So earliest you could get them is likely tuesday.

Thanks for all the help guys...1010 had a good price on Toyo tires, but I need to head back to LA by Tuesday and overnight shipping is $200. I learned that Porsches are supposed to only use N construction tires and Toyo doesn't make an N tire? As a result, I'm going to go ahead and visit the local Discount Tire and buy a whole new set or Pirelli PZero Rossos...I'll have a fresh set of the right tires and can get out of Fresno on time!

Thanks again guys.

hey, make sure your rears are either a 265/35/18 or a 285/30/18. You shouldnt use a 275 due to tire diameters. Wheelexperts told me to do these sizes... porsche switched to the 285 in 2002 from a 265 in 2001 model years.

my 2 cents

good luck!
