if you opt for the 997 tt you can put away the mod cash as it isn't neccessary

 

Not what I've heard, go troll the 997 Turbo forum. A Stock Z06 will take a 997tt from a roll everytime all else being equal...The Z06 has a higher HP rating, it's Nat Asp, and it's lighter...

I had a chance to follow one on an on-ramp. We both took off and he was just not walking away from me he was leaving me like 5 car lengths every sec.

 

In 1996? yes, you would be correct.

The fact is the new C6 (beit a regular C6 or C6Z) rides as good if not better than my 996tt before and after coilovers. I owned an '05 C6 and have driven an '06 C6Z.

They are not for everybody but I sure as hell wouldn't mind one sitting in my garage.

 

To Funny! . Stranger things have happened, thought years ago when I took my Chevelle 396 SS up against another car which was supposed to be an easy kill, but after blowing out the tranny in second gear coasted to a stop in front of a McDonalds and thought " I'm hungry".

 

all of the posts on the 997 turbo subforum regarding this issue have been far from conclusive. some say one is faster, some say the other is faster, some videos show the 997 turbo winning, some the z06. i have no doubt the manual would bow to the z06, but the tip statistically should be pretty close.

 

it's not fair to use letter like ''Z'' ''O'' ''6'' here is this specific forum.

 

I have driven both The z06 is fast.
I am pushing 600hp now and prob would not win...

In my 2000 300hp c2 -----forgeeetabouit!

Interior was no better than a Cavalier. I couldn't get my wife to ride along in it - she really didn't like it at all.

Both my 01 & 04 Z06's were...

NOISY... MEAN... & NASTY !!!

Great track cars that also worked as daily drivers.

My 07 Z06 is night & day better... no comparison between the two models.

Much better fit & finish... provides:

more power (A LOT MORE POWER)

better handling ( ~3 seconds/lap faster @ Road Atlanta)

better ride (much better suspension)

nicer interior ( fit & finish )

and VERY FAST @ the track.

Parts are more expensive, with limited availability, on the new Z06 (nowhere near Porsche prices though)... you can't get replacement rotors for ~ $28.00 @ your local Napa dealer.

Oh... did I mention... the 07 Z06 is MUCH QUICKER than earlier models !!!
