The guy at 914Rubber.com makes replicas of the original LCD displays. They are perfect, I have one in my car. (which is why I have a spare Audi display)

Great Work! and thank you for posting , I didn't know you can replace just the LCD.
I have the same issue, but when people ask me 'What's that semi circle ? "
I simply say " that's the LSS ( Lunar Sensor System) ,the semi circle means... we'll have a half moon tonite"
