Coolant Leak

after a nice drive, the coolant leaks under the left rear tire. I 've notice this several times after driving the car hard. the leak stop once the car cools down. While driving, engine temp is normal. is this something i should be concern about or could the dealer have added too much coolant from my last service? t.i.a. for your feed back.

Probably leaking coolant tank. DIY.

Check Sunset for pricing.

zdr2k. thanks for the feed back. I'll check the tank for leaks when i get home. but, it only leaks (drip) when the engine is hot and once the car cools down, it stops.

I would look around after driving for the actual leak... It can also be a bad coolant tank cap... look around and identify the source before you start taking stuff apart...

That was exactly my indication. The tank was leaking from the bottom and it is difficult or nearly impossible to detect.

check this DIY.

Change the tank cap first, then observe and see if leak goes away. You should change out the cap about every two years because they beak down. Cap cost around $25 or so.

Yep had the same problem. From what I hear it's very common since the coolant tanks are made of plastic, which makes it prone to breaks.

The tank was replaced and now, all better...
