Check Engine Light

I was sitting a light yesterday and noticed that my car was idling at 1000. I thought that was odd. I blipped the throttle and it slowly went down (it was very hot outside - 90+ - and the A/C was on). A minute later the CEL came on. No change in performance. I had noticed that my POS V-Flow has a big leak arounf the collar that holds the airfilter. Could air getting by the filter cause the MAF to read wrong and give me the light?

Any thoughts?

Yep, that's your problem and that'll cause a CEL in a heartbeat.
