Nav/Stereo replacement recommendations?

I'm loving the 7100. As Newport can attest to Kenwood seems to make some really solid and glitch-free units.
btw the 7100 plays ipod video if you purchase the adapter with the video cable, and has the high-speed interface. The controls are nicely done.
One bummer noted is with using a 2gb or 4gb usb thumb drive or mini hard drive via the USB input. It only reads mp3 files, will not play video files. Navigation of the USB source is a bit clumsy.
Additionally, there is not enough current output on the USB bus for powering 2.5" portable USB hard drives. I spoke with Kenwood support about this and they confirmed both of my findings.
If you want to play videos you must burn the video files to a DVD or CD, or use a video ipod.
Other than that it's all thumbs up.

I bought all my components from Amazon then I had it installed @ Showtime Audio (http://www.showtimeaudio.net/)in Chicago. Jerry is the guy to ask for, he is a super nice guy and this should be a easy install as he just did mine about a month ago. It cost me $320 for the install and should take around 3-4 hrs. I had the DNX7100, the blue tooth adapter, and the Ipod adapter all installed. I had them move my AC unit to the bottom where my tray was then I bought a deeper tray that fits above the AC unit (replaced the CD holders). You will also need to get some trim and possible bracket from your Porsche dealer. What setup do you have now and I can tell you what part numbers you may need. I will also post pictures of my setup so you can see.

Noticed you upgraded to 7015 with 5V preouts how does it compare to the old one with 2V preouts in SQ?

Well I had it narrowed down to either the 7100 or the 8019 w/ KNA-G510. I was thinking of the 8019 due to the (2) USB ports (one for iPod, and the other for either a USB thumb drive or USB hard drive). The 7100 only has 1 USB. Also, the 8019 has 5V preamp outputs, vs. the 2V on the 7100. And having a separate Nav module on the 8019 vs. the built in Nav on the 7100 enables you to upgrade to any future generation Nav units that Garmin may come out with in the future. Price wise, I found that the 8019 w/Nav add-on is only about $115 more than the 7100 at http://www.cartronixplus.com. I'm still open to any other options if anyone has any opinions on this, pls. chime in.

Well...I'll start off by saying, I did a LOT of research and have not been all that into aftermarket systems, but I find the Kenwood systems to be better than factory in quality, ease of use, and sound quality. It will fit in the old NAV space, will give you touchscreen capabilities, bluetooth, Sat Radio, HD Radio, iPod/Mp3 player control, the Nav system is flash based...VERY fast, no Nav disc needed. Here is mine.....its the DDX-7015, now replaced by the DDX-7017....
