Unfortunately, I believe your assumption is wrong. They are most likely EXE Rennsports, and sold by http://www.wheeldynamics.net, which would make them 20x8.5 and 20x11.

They look great, but for the 996, it'd be much better in 18" or 19"

That's my friend's car with EXE from Wheeldynamics in L.A. He showed up at one of the GTG with the wheels. Actually, the wheels looked good on 996 NA even they are 20 in. He did saids that the ride was not much different but you can tell you are riding on 20 in. And clearance was OK.

You guys dont recommend 20's on the 996?
Functionally i would think the car doesnt handle as well as it would with 19's or 18's.

Huh? I'm sure for the street 20s are fine. But it's widely known that Porsche optimized the performance of the 996 to an 18" wheel diameter. If you don't track your car, I'm sure 19" is fine for the street, as many owners here run them. But as can be expected, the larger the rim, the heavier the wheels usually get, and thus affecting performance.

I just changed from stock 18" turbo-look wheels to volks, saved about 10lbs. per wheel. There is a noticeable difference in everything...cornering, accelerating...everything feels quicker.

For a Porsche...I wouldnt go any bigger than a 19" for sure.

leave the twenties for the sedans... when I had a BMW540i peeps also hated on twenty inch rims, but I could justify it...I mean it is a 4 door sedan cruiser baby...im going bling! ahahhaa....but yeah...on these babies...stick with 19s.
