Well must be 6spd, any of the 996 models apeal to me, although I don't think the lines of the car are done justice without an aerokit or Turbo front etc. I am thinking that my first buy will be an early model 996. Plans would be to build a solid daily driver. Which in my experience has meant keeping aftermarket FI out of the equation I have yet to read any horror stories of these motors or drivetrains but if anyone can enlighten me to any weak points and best first upgrades to really make a rock, how are the OEM Clutches and tranny's? weak synchros or anything crazy?

Nice! Thanks for the pix of the GTI. I had a Jetta VR6 awhile back that I loved. Mostly suspension work and a chip on it though.

Looking at some of the other cars you have owned I'd say that speaks for itself as far as the Porsche is concerned eh!?

OMG I know... I am getting ridiculously excited just looking at prospects online

sadly i think that we will be deploying back overseas again soon, so I may hold off till I get back, we will see how long I have!!
